Terms of Service

By accessing or using MovieDesk, creating an account, or accepting an invitation to a workspace, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

These terms apply to all users — owners, admins, members, and guests — across every workspace and organisation.

MovieDesk is a film production finance management tool. We provide a web-based environment for production teams to track expenses, manage remuneration, schedule shoots, maintain records, and collaborate on financial data.

We may update, add, or remove features over time. We will communicate material changes that affect how you use the service.

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
• Workspace owners control who is invited to their workspace and what role each member holds.
• You must provide accurate information when signing up or accepting an invitation. Impersonating another person or organisation is not allowed.
• Notify us at contact@moviedesk.in if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You may not use MovieDesk to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to breach security, probe for vulnerabilities, or access data belonging to another workspace or organisation without permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code or underlying ideas from the service.
• Upload or transmit malware, spam, or any harmful or illegal content.
• Use the service in a way that impairs performance or availability for others.

We may suspend or terminate access for behaviour that violates these rules or puts the service or other users at risk.

The financial, production, and contact data you enter into MovieDesk belongs to you and your workspace. We process it only to operate the service for you.

You grant us a limited licence to host, back up, and process your data as necessary to provide MovieDesk. We do not claim ownership of your content.

MovieDesk may offer free and paid plans in the future. When paid plans are introduced, the pricing, billing cycle, and features will be presented clearly before you subscribe.

You are responsible for any taxes or duties applicable to your subscription, except where we are required by law to collect them.

We may change pricing for new subscriptions with reasonable notice. Existing paid subscriptions will continue on their current terms until renewal.

We work hard to keep MovieDesk available and secure, and we maintain encrypted backups of your data. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Scheduled maintenance, force majeure, internet outages, or third-party failures may cause downtime. We will try to notify you in advance of planned maintenance.

Keep your own copies of critical financial and tax records. MovieDesk is not a substitute for your own backups or record keeping.

MovieDesk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MovieDesk and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data loss, arising out of or relating to your use of the service.

You may close your account or leave a workspace at any time by contacting your workspace owner or emailing us at contact@moviedesk.in.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or if required by law. Workspace owners may also remove members from their workspace.

Upon termination, we will delete or anonymise your data in accordance with our retention practices and applicable law, except where we are required to keep records for legal or regulatory purposes.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of MovieDesk shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the service or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of MovieDesk after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
